Great service, yummy drinks, and amazing food! The huevos rancheros was soooo good (I switched out the feta for cheddar and added sour cream). The frozen drink was perfect summer refresher! I'll be back! Only complaint was it was hot inside and I got bit by mosquitoes inside, but this is dc. Overall great spot!

Delicious restaurant we've been back to a few times now. Service is prompt and briskly friendly (they're busy!), the food is good, and you can get some local beers. Not much to find fault with here! NOTES: -Indoor and outdoor seating. If you're sensitive to noise, go outside; it's way quieter. -Variety of indoor seating including couches, booths, and chairs without arms. The couches definitely seem designed for drinkers-only, but if you need the support, you may be able to arrange something. -Restrooms are two, single, all-gender rooms located on the same floor as the rest of the restaurant. -A few tables are located a bit too close together to allow easy access for a wheelchair, but with the large, spacious restrooms on the same level as the rest of the restaurant, Commissary is a lot more wheelchair-friendly than many of the restaurants we've been to in DC so far. PROS: -Super LGBTQA+ friendly atmosphere. Lots of diverse people here with tons of quotes and flags all over the wall that make it clear they support all identities. -The Mac and Cheese is super creamy, super cheesy, and super soft. It's a bowl of comfort food, and it's rich AF. I'd recommend getting a side of it and sharing it as an appetizer, but it honestly deserves a spot on the entree menu itself; it's really freakin' good. If they started experimenting with flavors (it's asking for a chicken bacon ranch variety), I'd probably live here. -The Bolognese is still pretty good too. Would definitely eat that again, and it gives you all of the meaty, savory vibes if rich, cheesiness isn't for you. -Large portion sizes. We were both stuffed all of the times we ate here. CONS: -I really was not into the white pizza. If you love cheese pizzas and have always wanted to try a white sauce version, you'll probably love the white pizza. For me (who thinks cheese pizzas tend to be a bit boring), it had the cheese pizza vibe. I'd probably add toppings to it next time. -It's a pretty busy place - and quite a few people are just getting drinks - even at dinner rush. It can lead to the place feeling a bit crowded and loud inside; I'm not sure how the two restrooms manage to hold up to this many people, but it was never out of soap, paper towels, or toilet paper - even in the middle of dinner rush. -Dessert menu is a separate menu you'll get after dinner. I really would love to be able to plan to 'save space' if I wanted desserts - especially with the large portion sizes here.

I went here for a late lunch at about 2/3pm so it was quite empty but the food was delicious and service pretty good. I got the Big Veggie Salad which has basically every vegetable I opted to add steak. My server recommended the dressing (I don't remember what it was) and it was perfect and already mixed in. The steak was also cooked to my liking and cider was the perfect drink. The restaurant and restaurant were clean, the few guests there seemed to be having a good time and it all felt really chill. I would go back again and certainly recommend checking them out.
